Patch Notes for Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake
There is no public patch log yet. This page exists so the first one has a home.
Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake is an announced 2027 title, not a live game with a public patch train. This page is the placeholder for the day Ubisoft ships the first hotfix, balance pass, or technical blog. Today it is a stub by design, not by oversight. Use it as the address you bookmark; when it changes, this wiki’s updates hub will link from the front page.
What you will find here when patches exist
When Ubisoft begins shipping retail patches, this page will collect them in reverse chronological order with three columns:
- Date and patch version.
- Headline of the change.
- Where on this wiki to read the explanation.
This is not a copy of the Steam news hub. Steam is the source. This page is the index that points to which existing wiki page interprets each change. For example:
- A balance patch that changes Phoenixes will be summarised here with a link into the creature tier list and the faction overview.
- A UI patch that adds a hotkey will link to the controls page.
- A multiplayer patch that changes matchmaking will link to the multiplayer page.
- A tech patch that touches save files will be flagged on the system requirements page.
What we will not do
We will not invent patch notes. We will not paraphrase a forum post and call it a patch. We will not copy a modder’s changelog and call it official. The line between “this is a public Ubisoft change” and “this is what a fan would like to see” is the same line the compare editions page draws between the remake and Complete Edition. Stay on the right side of it.
If a Ubisoft blog post goes up on visuals, quality-of-life, UGC, or technical topics — the topics the announcement recap promised — it is not a patch note and does not belong here. It belongs on the updates hub. Patch notes are post-launch changes to a shipped build.
How to follow patches before this page fills in
Until the first patch exists, three sources cover the feed:
- The Steam news hub on the official links page for app 3809850.
- Ubisoft’s article series and any blog posts cross-promoted from the Steam hub.
- The preview roundup for hands-on coverage of the build Ubisoft showed at Gamescom 2026.
Bookmark those. The wiki will summarise what they say. This page will summarise what they change.
Why the page exists today
A 404 on a wiki is a promise broken. The release date page already names 2027 as the launch window and explicitly refuses to invent a month. This page does the same job for patches: it exists, it explains why it is short, and it gives you somewhere to land when you search “Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake patch notes” in late 2027.
If you are reading this in 2026, it means you want a patch log because you are excited enough to want one. That is the correct reason. Bookmark it and check back when a build is live.
What the first patch will probably cover
No preview has promised a specific patch cadence. Past Ubisoft Chengdu + Shanghai live-service games have typically launched with a Day 1 hotfix, then moved to a 4-to-6 week cadence for balance and a faster cadence for crash-class bugs. Heroes III Remake is a single-player-first title with multiplayer and cloud-save systems, so the realistic first-year patch pattern looks like:
- Week 0: Day 1 hotfix for installer, ultrawide, and crash-on-launch classes. PC tends to need this more than console.
- Month 1: First balance pass on tier-one balance outliers from launch week community feedback. Creatures like the Black Dragon, Angel, and Bone Dragon will get a careful eye if they show up as outliers.
- Month 2 to 4: Quality-of-life additions — UI hints, hotkey tweaks, photo-mode polish. Snowdrop-engine remakes tend to ship quiet UX overhauls here.
- Month 6 to 12: Multiplayer rollout tuning — matchmaking regions, anti-cheat hardening, ranked season zero. The multiplayer page will be the home for that line.
These are educated guesses based on Ubisoft launch support conventions for single-player-first remakes, not statements from the studio. When the first real patch is published, the entries above are the kind of bullet we expect to see; the actual version numbers and dates will replace them.
How to read a Ubisoft patch log when it appears
The Steam news hub format tends to follow the same shape across Ubisoft titles: a one-line headline per change, a category tag (Gameplay, UI, Multiplayer, Stability, Audio, Localisation), and a short paragraph of context. When the first patch lands, this wiki will:
- Pull the headline and category tag for each bullet.
- Cross-link it to the right existing page (as in the example block above).
- Note the version string verbatim so you can search the Steam community for the same string and confirm the source.
If you ever spot this wiki saying something the Steam hub does not, treat the wiki as wrong. Steam is the source of truth for retail patches. The wiki is the map of what they change.
How to report a bug that becomes a patch
The official channels live on the official links page. For Heroes III Remake specifically:
- PC (Steam): Steam Community Hub bug reports under Discussions → Bug Reports subforum.
- PC (Ubisoft+): Ubisoft Connect customer support, category Game Performance / Bug.
- Console (PS5 / Xbox Series): First-party platform report forms (Sony PlayStation Support, Xbox Report a Problem). The studio does not run its own console crash collector.
When a real bug you reported becomes a public patch entry, it shows up here under your Steam display name if you opted into the credit. The wiki credits the bug-report threads we followed, not the patch authors. That distinction matters; we are summarising what changed, not claiming authorship of the fix.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for new commanders and returning veterans.
When will patch notes start appearing here?
When Ubisoft publishes the first public patch for the live 2027 build. Today there is no shipped patch to note.
Where is the official patch feed?
Steam news on app 3809850. We summarise; we do not replace the publisher feed.
Do fan mods count as patches?
No. The map editor page covers modding through the in-game hub and the original .h3m format, not as official patches.
